The Sonoran Desert, in the center of the Sonoran Plains, stands out for its enormous collection of more than 2000 different types of plants and cactus. Our jungle hunts/trips in Campeche
Far south of Sonora, west of the Yucatan Peninsula, lies Campeche, the “Place of the Lord Sun” in the Mayan language. It is known worldwide for its colorful flora and incredible fauna. It is not only a place to hunt but also a place that offers you the magnificent experience of seeing many endangered species such as toucans, macaws, monkeys, alligators, tapirs and even the powerful jaguar. This area is what we like to call “the Mexican Jungle”. Our area has several Mayan archeological sites that we visit during your stay.
Our “African”-style tent camp is located beside a natural pond in the middle of 50,000 acres of jungle. We offer you the best in accommodations, large floor/screen tents with full-size cots and vents. Showers and flush toilets are installed at camp. Typical dishes will be prepared daily by our chef and served at a fresh dining area. Each morning you will wake up to the singing of the ocellated turkeys, curassows, crested guans, parrots and macaws that fly around camp. In this area you can harvest a diversity of game including some of the above-mentioned large birds, plus red and brown brocket deer which you will track or ambush in the thick jungle… an incredible trophy! Our professional hunting staff will guide you efficiently to your success, and our trained skinners will take excellent care of your trophies to be later shipped safely back home. You can also photograph jaguars, cougars, ocelots, coatimundis and two different species of monkeys: growling and spider.
